Who am I?
I’m Namrata, I’m 24, and I’ve basically been writing since I could hold a pen. It’s just how I talk to myself and make sense of things.
Being a South Asian woman who grew up in the US, a lot of my work lives in that middle ground. I find myself coming back to mythology reimagined in the present day or stories about the South Asian experience. They’re the lenses I see through.
I also have this specific type of curiosity where I’ll get stuck on a historical detail or a random niche fact and feel the need to build a whole essay around it.
I just want the writing to feel human. I want someone to read a story and feel like they recognize the emotion behind it. Mostly, I just write because I’m curious, and I hope that shows up on the page.
